SAN ANTONIO, Jan. 3 (UPI) — Steven Sheffield completed 6-of-6 passes during a game-winning drive Saturday, leading Texas Tech to a 41-31 win over Michigan State at the Alamo Bowl.

Sheffield passed for 88 yards after starter Taylor Potts injured a finger on his passing hand.

Tech converted two key fourth-down plays in the fourth quarter.

Potts passed for 384 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

Baron Batch scored twice on 22 carries for 99 yards and added 85 yards on six receptions.

Record-Breaking ‘Half-Blood Prince’ Sales

As expected Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince broke records with midnight viewing sales totaling $22.2 million at 3,003 locations. 

The sixth installment in the series, which cost $400 million to make, beat out The Dark Knight which previously held the record at $18.5 million. 

Half-Blood Prince is set to break other records with its debut this week in all major international territories.
