Now that both the House and Senate have passed health care reform bills, all Democrats have to do is work out a compromise between the two versions. And it appears they’re not about to let the Republicans gum up the works again.

“but I think the most likely reason of all was the Grinch had a heart two sizes too small” (“How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” Dr. Seuss).
According to Rush Limbaugh, the health care reform that may be passed by Congress is socialism. Yet, it bears a striking resemblance to the universal healthcare system that just treated him in Hawaii that prompted his remark: “there is nothing wrong with the American health care system. I received no special treatment.”

Montpelier, Vermont – December 20, 2009
Advocates of federal health care reform are predicting that the Senate will pass its version in time for Christmas, although without the public option. The next step would be to reconcile the Senate bill with the House version, which includes a public option. Just this weekend, Vermont Sen. Well, that was interesting.
That’s about the best — and worst — you can say about 2009, a year that seems to have had twin personalities: one of them profound and somber, the other a goofy distraction from the important stuff.
It was a year marked by the historic inauguration of President Barack Obama, continuing struggles with the economy and unemployment, a battle over health care reform and the H1N1 flu.
It’s also been 12 wacky months of media frenzy ..read more
