The passion appears to be over in Mel Gibson’s 28-year marriage.

Gibson’s wife Robyn Moore has filed for divorce from the Oscar-winning “Braveheart” star, citing irreconcilable differences.

Moore, 52, is the mother of Gibson’s seven children. Only the youngest, 9-year-old Thomas, remains a minor.

Last month London’s Daily Mail newspaper published photographs showing the “The Passion of the Christ” director embracing a bikini-clad bombshell on the beach near his estate in Costa Rica.

Rarely seen in public, Moore is a devout Catholic and former dental nurse who met the “Mad Max” star in Australia.

She’s seeking joint custody of Thomas, who turns 10 on Tuesday, and spousal support. The date of separation is “to be determined,” according to the divorce filing first obtained by TMZ.com.

Gibson, 53, has been keeping a low profile since he spewed anti-Semitic remarks during a 2006 arrest for drunk driving in Malibu.

He later pleaded guilty to misdemeanor drunk driving and apologized for his offensive rant.
