Rihanna’s dad is disappointed with the way the Los Angeles police are handling her daughter’s case of domestic violence.

“Sloppy work on your part,” says Ronald Fenty, speaking by phone to people of Barbados Friday, shortly after the appearance of a chart that shows the photo Rihanna Thursday reported injuries from the alleged assault by boyfriend Chris Brown.

The picture is a close up of a young woman with closed eyes, bruises on his forehead and cuts on her lips and cheeks. Due to the nature of the case, people have chosen not to publish the photo.

The Police Department of Los Angeles issued a statement asking the public to help with “information relating to the unauthorized release of the photograph.”

“The violation of this type is considered a serious offense, with penalties up to and including termination,” said police.

Brown, 19, who issued a statement saying he was “sorry and saddened,” was arrested on a felony criminal threat charge February 8. His case has not yet been filed by police to prosecutors.

Rihanna turns 21
Today is the “umbrella” of the singer’s 21st birthday, Fenty, but said he was not sure how her daughter – who has not been seen in public since the alleged attack hours before the Grammy Awards – plans to spend his special day.

“There is no party that I know,” he says.
