Upfronts: CBS Orders Up Some Series, Including New ‘Hawaii 5-0′ – New York Times (blog)

While NBC and Fox are announcing new schedules on Monday, CBS is notifying producers about which new shows it is ordering for the fall. So far, it has given series orders to three dramas: “Hawaii 5-0,” “Defenders” and “Blue Bloods.”

William Shatner will head to CBS in the new comedy series “Bleep My Dad Says,” according to Deadline Hollywood.

The comedy is based on writer Justin Halpern’s Twitter account sensation S*** My Dad Says, where he posts his 70-something dad’s colorful commentary. Shatner will play the role of the dad.

This is CBS’ second new comedy series, joining Chuck Lorre’s “Mike & Molly.” Also on CBS’ Fall schedule are “Hawaii Five-O,” “Defenders,” “Blue Bloods” and the “Criminal Minds” spinoff.

‘Big Bang Theory’ Hits Syndication in Fall 2011 – TheWrap

CBS’ “The Big Bang Theory” will make a syndicated splash in fall 2011, when it launches its multiplatform off-network run on the Fox Television Stations and cable network TBS.

Currently the top-rated broadcast comedy among adults 18-49 and adults 25-54, “Big Bang Theory” brought in a reported $1.5 million per episode for the initial term of the deal, which is believed to cover at least eight or nine seasons of the series. CBS has reportedly picked up at least six new series for its upcoming fall season.

Leading the new pick-ups is the remake of the classic crime series Hawaii 5-O, the much-buzzed about project from Fringe producers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman and CSI: NY producer Peter Lenkov. The reboot features Three Rivers‘ Alex O’Laughlin and Lost’s Daniel Dae Kim in lead roles, along with Taryn Manning, Grace Park and Scott Caan.
